Announcing Octode
I have a crippling weakness for cute portable computers like the PocketCHIP and the GPD Win. Wouldn't it be nice if you could easily make cute, tiny games from cute, tiny computers? Or that old laptop gathering dust in your closet? Or from your secluded cabin in the woods that doesn't have internet access?
Today, I'm delighted to announce a whole new way to use Octo, which I call "Octode".
Octode is a self-contained IDE with everything you need to make CHIP-8 games, just like its big browser-based sibling. The reworked UI can be controlled entirely from a keyboard, or supplemented with a mouse or touchscreen. The whole application has modest requirements and can run on very inexpensive, humble computers. Take a look at the User Guide to learn more!
For convenience, I've uploaded a pre-compiled Windows binary, but it's easy to build from source on a Mac or Linux device- the Build Guide has useful information for a number of platforms. Have fun!

Wow, super! As someone who likes to take an old laptop up to the cottage eery now and then, this is perfect <3
